Mental Health Safety Net MHSN

Mental Health Safety Net (MHSN) is a community-based charity dedicated to suicide prevention, early intervention and building stronger, more connected communities.
Our primary focus is educating young people through safeTALK, an internationally recognised suicide prevention program. We work with local secondary schools to provide students aged 15 and over with practical skills to recognise when someone may be struggling, start a conversation, listen without judgement and connect that person with appropriate support.
Since 2021, MHSN has educated more than 5,000 young people across 11 schools, with our programs continuing to expand throughout the Mornington Peninsula, Frankston and Casey regions. Students also receive our Community Support Booklet, providing easy access to local and national mental health, counselling and crisis support services. Our long-term goal is to create generational change, giving young people skills they can carry from school into their families, friendships, sporting clubs, workplaces and communities.
