Our organisation began with the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured, orphaned and displaced kangaroos. Many of these animals came to us after losing their mothers, their habitat or their safety through vehicle accidents, development and human impact. What started as a rescue effort soon became something much bigger — a commitment to giving native animals a second chance and creating a place where they could finally be safe.
When we moved to our current property, we knew we had an opportunity to do more than rescue individual animals. We fully enclosed the acreage with feral-proof fencing to create a protected sanctuary where vulnerable native wildlife could live without the constant threat of foxes, cats, dogs and other pressures that have caused so many species to disappear from local areas.
Today, the sanctuary is home to rescued kangaroos and a growing number of native species, including Brush-tailed Bettongs, Potoroos, Ringtail Possums and Fat-tailed Dunnarts. Many of these animals were once part of our local landscape, quietly playing their role in keeping the environment healthy, but have been pushed out by predators, habitat loss and suburban growth.
Our sanctuary is about more than caring for animals. It is about restoring hope, protecting what is left, and helping people understand that these small, often forgotten native species matter. Every animal protected, every habitat restored and every person who learns their story helps create a future where our native wildlife is valued, respected and given the chance to survive.
