Ballarat Choral Society is one of Ballarat's longest-established choirs.
Founded over one hundred years ago, BCS maintains a friendly community feel and a high standard of singing. It usually presents three concerts per year in Ballarat, and collaborates with other groups - Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and MSO Chorus as well as Victorian Opera and Ballarat Symphony Orchestra. They have also collaborated with professional soloists and other vocal groups and string ensembles.
With the support of their Musical Director, Helen Duggan, and Accompanist Beverley Phillips, Ballarat Choral Society are known for their excellent renditions of the classics - from Mozart to Beethoven and beyond.
BCS also includes more contemporary composers and the lighter side of music in its repertoire.
The Choral Society are now rehearsing at the Ballarat Performing Arts Centre (BPAC) and always welcome new members. They welcome people of all abilities, have no auditions and provide lots of support for those who have little or no musical training.
