We are a mother and daughter duo from the Adelaide Hills who assist injured, displaced and orphaned wildlife ranging from possums, kangaroos, reptiles, birds and bats. Every year, our dedicated team provides life-saving care to more than 200 sick, injured and orphaned native animals. We are there every step of the way from emergency roadside rescues, through the rehabilitation process and eventual release back into the wild.
As a volunteer-run charity, we receive no ongoing operational funding. Every rescue, every feed, every veterinary visit and every piece of specialised equipment is made possible through fundraising, donations and the generosity of our community.
This year, we are raising funds to ensure we have the essential supplies needed to care for the hundreds of native animals that come through our doors. Your support will help us purchase life-saving milk formula and specialised teats for orphaned joeys and possums, while also helping to fund the rehabilitation of native bird species during the recent bird flu outbreak in South Australia.
This includes keeping us safe with PPE such as
N95 Masks, Rubber gloves, Protective gowns, hospital grade disinfectants and much more...
One of our biggest priorities is establishing a dedicated quarantine area for birds. Creating a safe and biosecure space to care for birds during disease outbreaks is a significant expense for our charity and realistically will cost considerably more than our current fundraising target. While we know the overall cost will be much higher, we've intentionally set our goal at **$5,000** which is a higher achievable target based on what we've been able to raise in previously. Every dollar brings us one step closer to creating this much-needed facility and strengthening our ability to respond to future wildlife emergencies.
