We scan lost and found cats and kittens for microchips in the community we also check deceased cats, if no microchip we keep them while searching for the owner, if no owners can be found after 30 days they are sent for cremation.
We trap unowned cats and kittens in the Hills district
We trap in industrial l and commercial areas quite a lot.
We have trapped 3 Adult cats and 24 kittens in the Mt Barker District area this year.
We socialise, desex, Vaccinated and microchip the cats and kittens and then place them for adoption.
We have just begun socialising unowned semi feral kittens for the council.
We spend a lot of time domesticating them and getting them to trust humans.
We also loan our trap to members of the community if their cat has escaped their home
we educate the community about cat bylaws and the importance of desexing and microchipping and we advocate for Cat containment to keep our wildlife safe.
All cats and kittens we adopt are for indoors homes only.
Reducing the number of unowned cats living in colonies helps keep our native wildlife safe and also reduces the number of unowned cats living in tough in the wild.
