It is welcoming to many seniors including those over 50 years of age (45 years for first nations people) Social Isolation within this group has been shown to impact heavily on their physical and mental health. It is proven that when this is remedied through a variety of strategies, significant improvement in the individual's health outcomes occurs. \u003cbr\u003eThe Program is a small Community based not for profit organisation. It receive a small amount of funding from the Qld government to contribute to the running of the Program. All of our groups are facilitated by volunteers, without their dedication and support the Organisation would not be able to offer the variety of activities that it does. \u003cbr\u003eThere is a need for resources that can support volunteers (also Seniors) which includes but is not limited to fuel expenses. The provision of equipment ( i.e sewing machines for the upcycle refashion group and others to use) The replacement of furniture that has stood the test of time and needs replacing, as the chairs are too heavy for many to lift, The Management Committee (all volunteers) would also benefit from all of the above-mentioned items.
